    Hi,

Just wondering does anyone have any tips to get gears to change smoothly in racing bicycles. As in my gears always seem to be clicking and never really sit properly in place...can anything be adjusted...thanks for any suggestions

The bit under Indexing Adjustment is probably the one you want. The barrel adjuster at the end of the cable, where it meets the derailleur body, is what you want to turn (if you're having trouble meshing properly with the sprockets on the rear wheel).

I find that if you are having trouble making the chain go from a larger sprocket to a smaller sprocket, turn the barrel adjuster a little clockwise (from the perspective of someone standing behind the bike). If having trouble making the chain go from a smaller sprocket to a larger one, turn the adjuster a little anti-clockwise.
