I'm a psychology graduate and would like to become a counsellor. I've been thinking about the postgraduate diploma/masters at UCD/Turning Point but its so pricey! It's over 5k pa making it impossible for me to apply for in the near future. It's part time over 3/4 years. I looked in the stickys but didn't find much info on this course.
While I value theory practise is equally important to me. I would ideally like to do a full time course but I can't find any in counselling at a post grad level. Don't they exist?

The Doctorate in counselling psychology in Trinity seems to make sense.

Yeah the Doctorate in Counselling Psychology is 3 years full time but its €12,500 a year and now that they plan to axe all grants for postgraduate students its an expensive road. To be honest I dont think you'll get a postgrad full time or not for any cheaper than €5,000, thats actually quite cheap.

hey hotspur, thanks for the reply, from what i understand the counselling psychology courses in ucc and trinity are highly competitive and expensive. girls i graduated with in 2009 who had better grades and much more experience than me havent gotten in so while i won't write them off i defo won't count on being accepted to one of them, prob shoulda clarified that at the start.
    sambuka, agreed!
