Has anyone ever been to Edinburgh on a stag before and if so would you recommend it?

I've only ever been on a rosemantic weekend and it looks like it could be a great spot for a stag. I'd be just slightly concerned about the night life, so any thoughts from your experience would be helpful, thanks :)

I have previously been there for a stag and had a fantastic time. The Grassmarket area is stag friendly. Espionage was a good nightclub that was stag friendly also.

I enjoyed it so much, that I am looking at organising that my brother's stag will be there. I have recently been looking into short stay apartments for the stag. I emailed one of the letting agents and openly mentioned the fact that it was a stag group. The apartments I was looking at were ideal - 10-15 single beds or separate beds.

Then, the landlord emailed me today, saying his place was available and that I should act quickly. The last line of his email was:

" NB No young men from Dublin area allowed in house"

I actually could not believe it. He knows the group is over for a stag. So how is a Dublin based group worse than a STAG group from Newcastle, Mayo, London etc?? Even if it were, this is an outrageous thing to write in an email.

How do you think I should respond??

    Hey,

I used to live in Edinburgh and might be some help. As a stag destination it depends on what type of a stag you want. If its wild the Hangover style madness and mayhem than Edinburgh is not the place.

If its drinking, banter among your group with the possibility of some craic with the locals and safe home to bed at 2am then Edinburgh is the place.

For pints I would say the pear tree near Georges square at the back of Edinburgh Uni, on to Doctors down the road, down to the Cowgate area and off down to Grassmarket for a club.

For complete mayhem, try Newcastle. Not far away but on a different planet in many ways:D

Is there a Scottish equality authority? Refer it to them, or send the story to a scottish newspaper.
