Sky+ HD box, no Channel 4 when I remove the card

Hi, I am planning on cancelling my sky subscription this week and I removed the card to check what channels I would receive on the HD box and I am not getting any of the C4, More 4 channels.

I removed the card from another regular sky box and that is getting those channels fine.

I also cannot access the other channels with the card removed on the Sky+ HD box.

    Help?????????

actually have the same issue myself. Maybe due to it the fact that the HD box is maintaining it's region code of Republic of Ireland where the ordinary box reverts back to a UK region.

That's exactly it. Your HD box is trying to view the encrypted C4 on the Irish EPG. It will only be FTA via Other Channels, if using the UK EPG or default Sky EPG.

The Irish versions of C4/More4 are encrypted. Possibly the others as well, not sure.

Thanks all. I understand now, is there any workaround?

Also I was reading through here and there is some way to unlock access to other channels when the card is removed, anyone know how to do that please?

Get yourself an English Ftv card I think their £15 and you'll get some extra channels, ring Sky from your phone with your number blocked and use a mates or family address from the UK get it sent to there and get them to send it on to you, then when you get it ring Sky again (number blocked) and register the card to the UK address sorted..
