Hi Stewy18, did you get this laptop in the end?

Looks like a good spec laptop, the only bad points that I've found are the speakers apparently aren't much good?

I'm guessing for normal Windows usage they'll be fine? Can you confirm?

For around €30 more this would be a much better laptop

Newer processor and a much better brand.

For around the same price and same spec but better brand

Smaller HDD but for most people 320GB is loads of space

Thanks for your reply Stewy18, I've suggested this laptop as a possible upgrade to a friends ageing desktop computer. It seems keenly priced for the specification and myself have owned two FS laptops in the past and found them to be of a good overall standard.

Also, thanks for your suggestions Fluffy88, however saveonlaptops seemingly won't deliver to IE.. Additionally the newer processor is 2.1GHz, which is slower than the original older processor of 2.4GHz. Like you say the price is slightly higher (€479) but in my opinion the branding doesn't really make a considerable difference to me.

Like you say the Toshiba laptop is almost the same price/spec so I guess it'll just be down to the future owner to decide. Thanks for suggesting a useful alternative :-)

Saveonlaptops definatly will deliver to Ireland. Many people here have bought from them.

Also GHz isn't all that matters. The newer CPU may be 2.1GHz but its better architecture means its actually on par/faster than the older i3. Look up some benchmarks. Intel aren't dumb they aren't gona make newer processors that are slower than the older ones.

Edit: Oh and on top of that it has much better integrated graphics and consumes less power, so its well worth the extra money.
