I would be interested in any one or any teams who would consider joining a league which starts up earlier in the year to avoid all the match cancellations around Christmas and Winter.

I would begin work towards setting one up if there was enough interest.

    Regards,

    DonalK

Which one are you referring to? The local leagues in Dublin start in September. Not League of Ireland, sorry I should have outlined in the OP.

But my question/logic behind this is if the main Irish league begins in March, why do the other lower leagues not follow? The short evenings and the cancelled matches make it very hard to organise and run during the current format.

Rumour has it - disastrously - that the LOI will be going back to winter football sooner or later.

On the clashing season: you are unlikely to get any consultation or understanding behind the LOI and junior football in this country. :)
