I have been quoted 2k to get 1 tooth implant, surely there are better prices available around, that seems excessive for 1 tooth. Can someone confirm thats the going rate or recommend a more competitive price from somewhere.

That price is well below average. It will depend on who is doing it. (Specialist dentists will charge more in general), what implants they are using and what level of work is involved (temporary bridges, temporary crowns etc). There is also a laboratory component to the fee that varies wildly in price and quality.

You will get implants cheaper (not much) from the very low cost providers, the question you need to ask is do you want the cheapest dentist using the cheapest implant in your jaw bone and fitting the cheapest crown on top of it?

there is a good website for comparasion of dental clinics in ireland called whatclinic or which clinic, anyway something along those lines.
a quick google should find it for you.
i have noticed good prices for implants eg 1600euro for a dentist in howth using a very good(allegedly) german system 'ankylar' i think.

i have been trawling around myself there is a big difference in price.
looking to get 4 or 5 myself.

my own dentist (at last i found a good dental practice in ireland, all the staff are polish ironically enough) quoted me 2300 a pop! but couldn't pin him down to a discount for multiple work

    happy hunting
    do lots of research
