We've tried two different ones recently.

Firstly the Angel care AC1100 ....... piece of cr@p picture and sound quality were not up to scratch

We now have the Summer Infant Baby Touch one and are very happy with it. Got it on Argos, is reduced to 170 from 200 at the moment.

Do you know if you are lucky enough to own a camcorder you can connect it with its cables to a signal sender also available in argos and it will give you a brilliant picture on your TV.

The only thing is you wont hear the child but you can use a standard cheap monitor with this.

The total price works out a lot less than the baby vision and you are left with a handy singal sender when the child grows up to send tv around the house.

Try amazon, they have loads and ship free to Ireland (if you spend more than €25 IIRC).
They comes in various brands/models, check out the spec. A built in thermometer is a nice option (saves you buying one and going to the room to check it).
You could also buy a IP(internet) cam, but then you need a computer or smartphone to monitor it...
