    Hi

Iv recently moved into a house which has free on-street parking, There is a Disabled parking space right outside the front gate of the house and it is no longer needed as I believe it was put there for the previous occupant.

It would be nice to be able to park outside the house.

Who do I contact or what is the procedure for to remove a Disabled parking space. This is in Cork City.

They may be disinclined to do this (a) it will cost money (b) it may be useful for other wheelchair users.

You might try Cork city council for starters?

    Donegal County Council.

Thanks for the replies, I though it would be the CC that deal with this but said Id check if there was a specific procedure.

I'm all for disabled parking but only where it serves a genuine purpose. The space outside my house has been unused now for a week, with 4 cars in the house it is an inconvenience for us.

I know my brother had one put in front of his house, it was there for about 6 months and then removed after the person living in the house next door passed away who was the primary user. But this was in the City centre.

There are other disabled spaces on the street too.

I just wanted to post a reply on how this got sorted.

I Rang the City Council and the nice lady took a message and said that someone would get back to me.

7 days later and no call
So I sent a mail to 5 of my local councillors. Two of them replied within 10 Minutes saying that they would get on to it as soon as possible.
Two days later I came home to find the parking space markings had been removed. :)

    Problem sorted !
