Anyway, my car is due in for its NCT tues and if its passed, its time to say goodbye! Its a 2005 Opel Tigra 2005 sport convertible ( yes i am a girl!). I hoping to get about €6000 for it fingers x'd and im looking into getting a BMW or something to the equivilent...

But can anyone recommend a car in that price range regardless of make? Im looking for something reliable and stylish...

    Thanks!

If you had a look on carzone recently, you would notice that there are quite a few 2004+ going from €5000 upwards.....

Thanks for the first reply.. will look into the golf, they seem to be a reliable decent car.

Hopefully other people have some genuine and helpful replies unlike parkhead!

    2.0 + litre petrol beemer ?

sure who'd want one of those with this magic fuel, diesel :D

seriously though, petrol models would be more reasonable then diesel equivalents.

My Niece had one of those Tigra's. She went from that to an Audi TT Quattro and loved it.
Would depend on your insurance etc.
    Just a suggestion

I know the Audi is going cheap but when the seller says "driving fine"....... Makes you think. I think that TT would be a money pit. Same dough you could get a civic r with far less hassle says me, that's if you want a performance car at that money or go the tdi route.

My Niece had her one for near 4 years. The only parts fitted was Coilpacks, Outside of regular serrvicing. She now has a '09 insignia elite 160 diesel and misses the TT every time she sits into the Insignia.

Saying you want a BMW is the same as saying you want a car - it's too vague, seeing as BMW's go from 1.6L up to 6L or so.

    I'd imagine you'd want either a 1 series or 3 series - here's a 1-Series from a dealership with a full service history:

This looks to be a nice example of a 3-Series...

You're asking for reliable and stylish though, which indicates you're more concerned with looking good than amazing handling or power (which is grand, everyone has different taste) and keeping it running with few worries and bills.

In that case I'd recommend a Hyundai Coupe - you can move up a couple of years, they look lovely, and have enough drivability to keep you happy. This one looks promising, for example:

Anyways, if you want to be more specific about what you want in a car, let us know, helps us narrow it down.
