Slightly off-topic I guess, but what chairs do you guys use?

Anyone have any recommendations? I am waiting for my build to be delivered, and setting up the work area for it.

    Thanks!

I'm sitting on my kitchen chair at the moment; no other ones came with the apartment. :P

If I had the money, I might look into something like this.

    http://www.ikea.com/ie/en/catalog/products/20103101/

    (Though maybe not from IKEA)

Think this is definately on topic. And something alot of us dont put alot of time/resources into. Great article on last months(i think) Custom PC and they did a review of 7-8 different chairs. At work now but can give you a few names later when I get home.

Only problem is, like the link Serephucus gave there, they are very expensive. I think in the scheme of things it is probably worth spending about Eur100 on a good chair. But like most other people I am using a kitchen chair at the moment.

Moved house recently so I am looking at getting set up a bit better where I am now - more room. Think the best value is to try and pick up some second hand office furniture. Them Galant desks in Ikea are nice but very expensive.

There is some office stuff on adverts that you can pick up for cheap enough

I've been scouring adverts alright, the only trouble with that is I would obviously like to sit on the chair before shelling out!

I have budgeted up to €150, because it's something that will hopefully last a long time. One website had chairs costing up to a grand!

I have this chair in my home office. Easy to build, very comfy. No more poor posture!

In my office at work I have an Aeron by Herman Miller. Without a doubt the best office chair in the entire world. FACT!

That looks fantastic but I imagine it's not the easiest (or cheapest) chair to get one's hands on.

I think Bene in Dublin sell them. They are certainly not cheap but they are renowned as the worlds best office chair for many years now. If budget allows, go for it. :)

This looks like a reasonably priced alternative if you don't want a headrest or arms. (though i think they can be sold separately)

Well, guess I'm off to Ikea on Saturday to give them the bum-test!

The one for 159 does look nice...

As I said though, if I were going to be forking out €160 for a freaking chair, I wouldn't just look in Ikea. I really don't know who else does good chairs, but for the love of god man, shop around first! :P

True enough - but places like woodies or harvey norman only sell vastly overpriced chairs!

I'll do some more web-based research anyway.

For gods sake don't buy one of those chairs with the high backs, they will just destroy you over a period of time, look for something with good back support all round.
While we are on the subject have a look here http://www.openerg.com/ , make sure that your setup is correct first before going out to buy a chair.

I've had the cheaper ones from there break on me after a year or two. You get what you pay for with those.

I'm in the same boat, but don't want to break the bank altogether, can anyone vouch for something like this? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Eliza-Tinsley-Executive-1007PU-BK/dp/B002VEFM3I/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

There is so much liquidated used office furniture available in Ireland. You might even pick up an Aeron cheap.
