    Hi all,

just a quick question a I know nothing about it, If you own a business in the U.S.A, can you work here full-time? and if so how would it affect your pay, if at all?

    Thanks

Assuming that you are an EU citizen or have a work permit owning a business will not effect your ability to work here in Ireland.

It is likely to effect how much tax you pay depending on the income you get from the business and I would reccomend getting an appointment with an accountant or a taxation consultant over here for more details.

Her business interests in the USA wouldn't affect her ability to work here. Her Immigration status would affect it. You'd have to first apply for de facto status on her behalf whereby you'd have to show that you're both in a steady committed relationship for over two years. If that is granted, she can have a Stamp 4 which permits her to work freely here without restriction.

One other thing, if she has to go back and forth to the USA for business stuff, prepare for her to be questioned by Immigration at Dublin Airport every time she tries to re-enter the State.

THere may be tax implications as another poster has mentioned so an accountant would be the best bet for advice there.
