Looking for a quick confirmation... 14 holes singles competition..holes 5-18.... can I play holes 1-4 as a warm up and then play from hole 5 at my alloted teetime on the sheet? I know matchplay you can play course but in singles you cannot play same holes...how about this?

Interesting question!

I'm pretty sure the answer is yes. You can not play on the same course on the day of a strokeplay event before the event itself. In your case, the "course" consists of holes 5-18, so you are not actually playing the competition course when you play holes 1-4, you would simply be considered as playing 4 adjacent holes and that's all!!
