I have this heating and its driving me insane!!

I just want to turn it on when I want it so I press extra hour but nothing happens.. It comes on at random times (from previous tenant). I maybe want to use the timer for evening but mainly just pressing it on when I want it.

    Any help on this?

    Thanks

Is the thermostat set too low?

whats the make of the timer?
    any chance pic?

is there a flap that folds down to allow access to timing controls?
can you turn the controls to off(not automatic)?
then it should be possible to use boost buttons

    more info required op

Have a pic of the timer in my first post. It's honeywell. I've tried to set times but apparently it came on at half 2 today and I don't have it set at all for then....

    Sorry missed your pic
Press the selector button(under cont, auto all day off) until off is highlighted
    Do this on both sides
Then you can operate your system using your boost button(+1hr)
If you just want you can switch it on(cont),but it will not switch off automatically

So it has to be on off on both sides to let me use the boost button and put it on when and for however long I would like?

will this effect the heating of the water for showers as I know one side is specifically for water?

    Thanks

I've done that and the heat hasn't come on :/ what does auto do?

    http://www.honeywelluk.com/products/Time-Controls/Wired/ST9500C/
if you click on the st9500c user guide you can download the instructions

you could also decide to leave your hot water on timed(auto)
and use your heating with the boost button(press once for 1 hr,twice for 2hr,three times for 3 hours)

I can't get the boost to work :(

    sorry just read manual
over ride works in all day and auto only
my advice is to set timer to switch on for 1 minute only
then leave the selector to automatic
then the boost will work for you

if you have heating side on auto, you will need to adjust the timing as it is probably timed to come on in the morning and also the evening

my advice is to time the 2 on settings for 1 minute each(this will mean that in auto setting the heating will only work automatically for 2 minutes total, allowing you to use the boost button)

on the water side ,cont means constant
change this to auto(timed ) for better efficiency

Ive set it to auto and set the timer to 7.50 to see if it comes on

    probably a replacement required:mad:
1 does the indicator light come on?
2 is there a room thermostat?
3 is it turned up full?
4 can you access the mini-valve and open it manually(hotpress)

The thermostat was on about 15 - Ive put it at 23 approx.

I have set it to 8.30 and put it on auto...

The indicator is off now, hopefully will come on at 8.30. All rads are on.

FFS, why do they make these things so annoying!!

whats this mini valve? I'm in an apt and the boiler/heating pad are all in a utility room.
