    Hi,

I just wondered if anyone of my era looks back fondly (or if you're like me - in horror :D) to the days when batwing jumpers and stonewashed jeans were cool and you wore them proudly to school discos and other social events

Just wondered if anyone has any thoughts on the subject....

Forgive me for my ignorance but what are batwing jumpers and when were they in fashion?

They were these hideous looking jumpers with sleeves resembling the wings of a bat, ie. with deep armholes and tight at the wrists. At the time of course they were the height of fashion :o - can't ever imagine them catching on again like they did back then (late '80s if memory serves me correctly).

Disco was mostly 70s in the US and stonwashed jeans were 80s/early 90s. Jeans in the 70s were pretty "normal" except for the bell bottom ones which were silly and even then thankfully I was smart enough to never get. Don't recall the "batwing" tops at all but then again I wasn't paying much attention to women's clothes then just what was underneath.

    I love Batwing jumpers. :)
In fact didnt they make a comeback a few years ago? I got one a couple of years ago that I still wear.

Stonewash on the other hand is a crime against fashion.
That too has made a comeback with all the 80s fashion
