Accommodation

I heard that TCD's accommodation is quite far away from the university itself. So what I'm wondering is how expensive is it to get to the university each day. Will I need to get a bus every day, and how much will that cost me? Is there any cheaper way to get to TCD? And would it be possible to walk?

I know a few people that cycle in every day. Does them no harm! You could also get a student travel card and a monthly bus ticket

Seems it's about 4 km. There's a luas line quite close to the accommodation though, which'll take you into town. No idea how long it takes though.

Cheapest way is to cycle. There's cycle racks at Trinity and at Halls.

Next is the LUAS, which is about a 5min walk away. Its then another 5-10min from Stephen's Green to Trinity. Its €41 for a monthly student ticket.

The bus stops right outside Halls and Trinity, but is the most expensive at €82 for 30 days. This is for 30 non-consecutive days though, so if you aren't using the bus on weekends it will last 6 weeks.

I also recommend cycling, it's an easy spin in. I walked in every day when I lived there, 45 mins each way. You get used to it in no time, but I've since bought a bicycle and it is much more fun :)

What are fat students supposed to do?

There should be more on campus accommodation, or at least accommodation within the canals.

Get a ****** bike. No excuse for it.

So accommodation just within the canal is adequate? Why the canals? It'll take you just as long to walk from the portobello bridge as it will to cycle from halls.

OP, It's 4km away(as was posted) and best way to get in(as was posted already) is

    Bike
    Luas
    Bus

It's a 15 minute cycle if you take it easy, I've done it in less than 10...

Have you seen the campus? It's not exactly overflowing with space.
