I was just about to obtain a €30 top up gratis via my extremely hard earned 'cherry' points (think it took about 15 months to obtain them ) when I spotted this Moshi Moshi Purple Retro Phone which I could get instead.

How awesomes would I look strutting down the street making business calls like.a.boss on that yoke!

Not sure what I should do now.

Just so you know, I had to sign in to see that page.

Not much good to those that aren't on Vodafone.

Edit: I see you changed the link. Yeah man, get it. You would be full of win with that.

    Cherry points?

Is that like kudos points you get for riding a virgin?

Would it be worth hauling that thing around when the novelty wears off in about a week or less. Ah well, probably the same as the top up, then you can give it away as an xmas present.

How do you get those points? I've heard of them but don't really know how you get them.

If someone could inform me I'd appreciate it!

    Moshi Moshi Retro Phone Purple.
The retro phone is a bit of tat to con you out of your cherry points. Dont fall for it !!! Take the top up !!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,463 ✭✭✭Solnskaya

I had that phone in its original format, back when I was a thrusting young thing with all the latest gadgets, 4*4 etc. It was pants then, and its pants now. Get the top up. Big phones are only good for beating people with, and ever since Goodfellas, thats been illegal. Top-up for the win. Also, if a €30 top up is a big deal, you're a loser, just thought i'd mention that.:D

Get it!!! It's awesome, you can look like a real businessman, pacing with authority back and forth as you cradle the handset between your shoulder and chin, prodding at the air and hammering your point home.

Ooh, I want one now, so I can pretend to be in a 90's courtroom drama...

I hear triangles are where it's at to be hip these days.

Get the retro phone then, and in 10 years time start a thread in All Things Retro about it.

'Hoy goys, remember the purple moshi retro phone its now actually retro omg lolzers' (or whatever the hipspeak is of the day)

    It's already retro.

    AND current.

I'm thinking the deal extreme version makes more sense now. Maybe it will lead to me copping out and losing my nerve though.

If it was bakelite with brass fittings I'd say go for it. Not so sure about this though.

I only saw this very item in Peats electro store yesterday. I touched that purple receiver, and thought of you, Mr. The-Rigger.

    :-/

I did - I sold out and took the €30 free top up, never have I felt older or like I was waving good by to my childhood spirit more. It turns out (didn't realise at the time) that you don't get free txts and calls with the top up, just credit so it was as useless as a one legged man in an ar$e kicking contest.

It was so obviously the wrong choice regardless of that and I should 100% have gone for Moshi Moshi Retro Phone Purple.
    Life's retribution was swift.
