Hey, I have a problem, for some reason my HK416 Gearbox works as a death machine literally, something breaks down, you replace it, after few hours that breaks down as well. Here is history of breakdown:
Gear, then piston, then another piston, then seems like a gear again. What could be wrong with that? any good place to buy completely new Gearbox that would be good quality? or how do I fix current one?

Right now I think its' locked up, well when I insert battery and push trigger I hear clicking sound, almost like motor is ready to spin yet its locked.

are all the gears the same make? if not they could be misallined and being forced into place by the shell and literally locking into one another if you whant rid of it iam currently in the market for one?

oh, well I replaced one gear once, should I open up and replace other 2 with same ones that were from 1 set?

I would do that its always best to keep all the gears the same there mite be a fraction of a difference between a JG and CA gear but its enough to cause the locking

If I was going for complete replacement gearbox, I'd probably go the G&P route to be honest. I don't think there's much between 'em landed.

I'd say you need to open your gearbox, replace the gear set, replace the piston, and spend some good solid time shimming the gears. As for what gear set to go for, if they're stripping I'd go with good strong standard ratio gears like SHS steel ones, XYT ones, or even VFC.

Piston wise, I'd stick with the plastic toothed pistons so that your gearbox eats that instead of your gears. Only thing I'd do is the AOE (Angle of Engagement) mod, to reduce stress on that last tooth of the piston.

What spring is in the gearbox? What way was it downgraded (if it was drilled, it will still be pulling quite a strong spring)?
