he goes crazy when he sees another dog mad to fight, he gets walked everyday in parks where he sees loads other dogs and gets himself really worked up, was thinking getting him neutered was told that might calm him down a good bit?

sounds like a very unsocialised dog. i would be looking for a behaviourst for him before any injury is caused. apart from seen dogs at a distance does he get to interact with other dogs? how old is he? also yes think good idea to get him nuetered. might calm him a bit but this could be a learned behaviour now. i would deffo see a good certified behavourist for him. good luck.

also cos of his breed i would get a muzzle for him if you aint already. it is the law, not saying i agree wioth it, but in this case i would deffo use one

He could be eagar to check out the other, it could be excitment , or then again he could be D.A. You have to disgusih the two.
I agree with the comment above get him to a a Trainer. Although nuetering seems like the best idea it can go both ways. It could have NO affect on his behaviour.
If dont have him wearing a muzzle already, please start ;)

One thing about the SBT, it is breed standard for them to not get on well with other dogs. That is why they have to be socialised from a young age and that does not stop some of them. As another poster has said, by law your dog has to be muzzled and on a short metal lead. Perhaps you can contact a dog behaviourist with regards the matter. Most vets will recommend one to you :) As for the neutering, it will do no harm, he will either settle or remain the same, but at least it is better for him health wise!

    thanks for the replies folks...

when it is dogs he knows has met before he can be calmed down with a bit of work but if its a dog he dosent know or another dog of the lead that runs up to him he flips, i always have a muzzle on him when out walking i couldnt take the chance, he is nearly 7 (although is has a pups temperment nearly) i only have him about a year (he has always been the same) he was my brothers dog (he had to emigrate for work) and i have to say he was a well socialised dog when younger, my brother had 3 sbt and the other 2 (which my sister now has) are as quiet as anything ya wouldnt even no they were in the house, they walk off the lead unmuzzled no problem anytime, 1 was actually attacked 2 months ago by a collie which was off the lead in a park and didnt even try defend itself just kept running away from it...

there is a dog trainer near me who is meant to well experienced in different countries and that but i have heard a few worring stories about the after affect from his training on the dogs so i dont no what to do

Where about in the country are you? Many people on here have experience with trainers so can recommend one.

Neutering can make a difference with most dogs, but at 7 it may be learned behaviour so this is where the trainer/behaviourist comes in.
I would still go for the neutering, it could make a big difference.

    Would highly recommend http://www.positivedogtrainingdublin.com

I know one of the girls & they would be the best people to talk to - I reckon the likes of Doggie Daycare may work well to have the Sibe socialised with other dogs in a controlled environment.
