    Got the 09:30 from Cork > Dublin this morning. Due in at 12:20, arrived at 12:50. We were running 10 mins late at the Junction. Vague mutterances in Heuston about "technical faults".

    210 mins to do 165-odd miles. Signs on nobody came around to check tickets...

    Was I back in the GSR days with poor wartime coal ?

    (@J.D. - I see that small fella still hangs around in Cork)

    Thought the GSR was scrambling to convert most of the locos to oil burning back then?

    Pretty typical.

    Im a rent boy* in Sallins (cue every idiot on boards that thinks they know me, getting stuck in) and I regularly hear the Cork- Dublin train "speeding" through Sallins at around twenty past the hour. Either late or regularly on a 3 hr 10 timetable.

    * I'm only renting the spot I used to stand in, outside a pub. (beside the station) But Ive quit smoking so now Im not as familiar with things.:D
