    Hi All

I currently have a multiroom subscription with sky for two rooms.

Im actually planning on cancelling the second room as we never use it.

What I was wondering is whether the landline requirement is only there for when you have a second box? If I were also to cancel my landline connection would my main sky box still work?

    Thanks a mil!

Landline is ONLY required for multiroom. so if you cancel multiroom you wil not require the phoneline.
The box will function normally without it. (presuming you don't use the gaming and interactive features)

It will work for freesat only. If its a sky+ box then the + features will not work.

@drik. As you are in a postion to cancel the multiroom then it would appear that you are out of contract so you definitely dont need a pbone connection at all.

    Thanks for the replies guys!

We dont use the interactive or the gaming at all. We would use the + element of sky though. Does this mean I wont be able to pause live tv and record? Sorry for all the questions.

    Thanks!

I ve sky plus without a phone line and the pause/rewind/functions all work fine without it. Dunno bout gaming and interacyive stuff as I got the installer to disable them so my kids couldnt use them.

You loose these features when you're not a subcriber. If you have programmes reorded to the hard drive then you wont be able to watch those either unless they were reorded from the free channels like RTE, TV3 etc.

You are still paying Sky for this?

Once you don't cancel your main subscription, your main box will work just fine.

If you cancel your subscription then you cant access any of the recorded content on the hard drive, your box is effectively a free to air receiver.
RTE and TV3 aren't free either on sky's platform.

That could well be right but I know that a couple of years ago when I cancelled my sub I had quite a few programmes/films recorded and I could use playback on anything that was recorded from the non cubscription channels but couldnt do so with movies, sports etc
