Unless you downloaded the ringtone from your phone & assigned it to a contact or as default ringtone as soon as you purchased it, it will go into your iTunes library.

If it gets to that stage, or if you purchased it from the iTunes site, as far as I know you will still have to download a ringtones app to synch ringtones to your phone.

I have never paid for ringtones, but have made some using songs in my library & synched them to my phone. I'm not familiar with the exact process that you'd have to go through to use a ringtone that you have purchased, but I'm assuming that it wouldn't be all that different.

There are loads of apps - the one I use is a free one: RMaker . There's a paid version of it also, but the free one is sufficient for the few times you'd use it imo (just be careful when you're saving the tune that you click the 'x' on the top right screen so as not to download the free download . Others may advise you on a better one, but here's the link anyway: http://itunes.apple.com/ie/app/ringtone-maker-make-free-ringtones/id390929278?mt=8

Here's a link to the steps you have to take after downloading the app to load ringtones into your phone: http://www.zentertain.net/ringtone-help/en/

It's quite easy to do - the only problem you might have is dragging the file(s) into iTunes, but some resizing & moving of the screens on your desktop will solve that.

There may be an easier, more straightforward way to do things that others know of, but at least that's something to be getting on with.
