    Hi folks,
Apologies if in the wrong place. My sister asked me to look at this drum kit.

    http://www.donedeal.ie/for-sale/drums/2657896

I cannot find a similar one online to estimate the cost.

What do you think would be a fair price for it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Stagg is a budget brand, i reckon €150-250 would be a realistic price for that kit second hand. I *think* they retail new for about €300 or thereabouts.

    Great thanks,
I thought that. They are looking for 300 for it second hand. I'm better off looking in a shop for a budget brand instead?

I don't know the Stagg brand but I know someone who bought a cheapo starter set and I'd stay away. It looks similar. I found it was too light, pedals were rubbish, tone was awful, hard to tune and the cymbals that came with it looked and sounded like aluminium.
Keep looking for a more recognised brand secondhand or save a bit more for something like a Sonor beginner kit. At the very least you may have to buy a set of cymbals from Thomann or Musicstore if they're as dead as the ones I tried.

    il Gato,
Thanks very much for your advice,

tbh, my brother in law is a fad person, he will beat them for a week and the set will sit in the corner, (and then won't sell it on again). So I don't want my sister wasting more money than she needs to.

By February, it will be a glorified hat stand. :D

    Many thanks again.

Fair enough. I know the type. Occasionally am the type. Tbh, If he takes a liking to it, a set of decent cymbals online for less than €100 will make all the difference down the line. If the ones with it are as bad as I imagine. It may never come to that though.
