Anyone heard of We Cut Corners? Dublin two piece probably best described as a cross between The Shin, The Buzzcocks and The White Stripes

Saw them in Dolans Limerick supporting O Emperor (who were very disappointing I felt. Interviewed them before hand too, nice guys)

Anyway WCC were in support and completely blew everyone away

Most promising Irish band in years IMO

The two members are also Primary school teachers AFAIK

yep. never seen them live but they are getting a lot of press recently. they used to be called Camogie Lovers which I thought was a great name. they've a album out now I think. They have one great song called A Pirates Life

'Go Easy' is a pretty decent song, nothing original but a well-written song. They kind of remind me of JJ72 at times which isn't a bad thing to me. The other songs I've heard from them don't seem as good.

I like a few of their songs, but their album isn't nearly as good as I was expecting. I've saw them live, and they're enjoyable, but it's kind of ridiculous the way some songs don't have drums whenever the drummer decides he wants to be a frontman for a while. Pirate's Life is a great song (I prefer the demo version of it though!)

Been giving the album a few more spins lately and I really like it, some great songs on there, and it's a shame it's only 30 mins long. I saw them live on Friday to top it off and they played really well, a LOT better than when I saw them last.

Go Easy and The Leopard as mentioned above are incredible songs, 'Toll Free', 'Say Yes to Everything' and 'Three People' also fantastic. Couple of weak songs on the album, but all in all a really promising band, and very good live too (although, like the album, the set is a bit on the short side).

Best Irish album I've heard in a fair while. Fair play to the lads.

That's really great stuff, must pick up the album.

Speaking of JJ72, they came up on shuffle the other day. Anyone have any notion where Mark Greaney is these days or what he's up to?

He's in that Concerto for Consantine band isn't he?

    Never really liked them.

Saw them support The Maccabees couple of weeks back. They were pretty good, but I wasn't blown away. Lead singer play's drums while he's singing, which im still not sure if it was annoying or good. It seemed he had to sing louder a lot of the time cos the drum sounds were coming through his vocal mic too.

Love the album, most songs are great but found the last 3/4 kind of boring. Still a great album with lots of replay ability..

A couple of awesome tracks in their repertoire,,seen them a few weeks ago..I prefer when they rock out as in the leopard and go-easy hopefully they focus on more energetic songs in future.
The part around 0.37 on the leopard really reminds of another song..cant think of it now.

Libertines Up the Bracket..some similarity at times to my ears -not to denigrate WCC in any way!
