We had half price sky sports for six months. Forgot all about it and checked bank statement. Shock. My own fault.
Phoned sky up and cancelled the sports (sad)
I will miss the European Rugby and NFL.

I will wait a few months and see what offers may come my way.
Moral is, remember a month before your offer ends to cancel.

On a similar note I had a recurring €5 monthly sub for the last few months with satanta whereby I would ring them every 3 months to cancel and they would end up giving me the same offer again. When I rang in early October to cancel the guy said he could give me another offer for 3 months but it would cost €8.49 per month.

I told him I would take it for a fiver but he preached on about how they could do it for that price over the summer but as they now had premiership games again they had to increase the sub. He wasn't particularly nice about it either so I told him to cancel my sub which would end on 4th Nov. and left it at that

At the end of October I got a call from them to see why I had cancelled and of course trying to persuade me to stay and pay the 8.49 a month. I just told them that I didnt mind the 5 euro but I wasnt paying what they wanted. Off he goes to his supervisor by the way and comes back with the usual crap of how I was good customer blah de blah and gives it to me for €5 a month for the next 3 months.

So the moral of this story is - if they want your money they will be in touch again and then you are in a better postion to haggle. :)

muffler that sounds like such a pain in the rear end, I hate when places like that call. I've better things to do in life than be the subject of a cold caller... though I suppose you did get something for it in the end.

Yeah, I frown at the cold calling myself but when "they" make the contact the roles are then reversed as its them that want something from me :)
