Just got a letter from Sky today offering 3 months half price upgrade to Sky Sports! Works out at €17 per month.

Perfect timing for the Heineken Cup :D

And if you want, you can add sports and movies for €21.50 per month.

I presume this is open to all just like the movie offer in the summer!

Just ring 0818 716 061 before 2nd December to activate

bear in mind if you are already on a discount as i am the mo, i'm on the entertainment extra pack in HD, should be 48 euro p.m., i'm getting it for 39.99 euro, by taking up this offer for skysports half price for 3 months, you will loose your original discount. not worth it for me.

p.s. - the sales rep you get through to might or might not tell you the above info.

    beware!

Anyone know if there is a code for this offer, or can you just ring up and tell them you got a letter in the post? I'm tempted by this offer, would be nice for the xmas!!

Don't suppose if you have Sky Sports already they will give it to you?

Only for people on non premium subs.If you have Sports you won't get it.

You could phone them and chance your arm by saying it's not fair that you have to pay full price and never get offered any discounts.;)

Yes ESPN is included in this package. I took up the offer myself with the xmas coming up.

I applied to sky sports package yesterday without knowing this (just for HCup as well) :(.
I rang up this morning and explained that my mrs. told me only last night that we got the offer in the post but cant find the letter with that special card with offer details. He said that its too late now as we have got the sky sports package yesterday ourselves.
But... he was nice enough to mention that if we wanted to add movies to that it would only cost €21.50 for both packages on top of my current package price so I went for that, happy days!!! So anyone who still wants it just ring them up on the number OP posted and explain that you cant find the letter and that should work :). I got bit annoyed as the call center I rang yesterday told me that ESPN was not part of the Sky Sports package which is bull! When I asked this morning about it, the guy said it must have been the UK call center I rang, and the one I got through today was in Cork. It states on Sky Ireland website that ESPN is part of Sky Sports package so make sure you ask about that too!!
Hope this helps anyone, and thank you OP!!! ;)

you don't really need a letter, it's open to sky customers in ireland that do not have a sports or movies subscription, just ring the cork sales centre, go to the sky website for the number.

Tried to avail of this, but they said it only applies to customers who have been with them over a year. I only recently switched from UPC to Sky so I guess I'm not eligible for the fringe benefits yet.

Damn, Didnt ring on time. Anyone know if this offer is still available?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 467 ✭✭YumDeiseMum

    It expired december 2nd

try ringing them and see if they have any offers available for your account.

I rang today to cancel my multiroom and HD packages as my 12 months half price offer was ending. So instead of cancelling they extended it for another year on a month to month basis and my bill is now €3 cheaper

Gave them my months notice on the 17th and got charged €45 on the 20th. It's not the first time they've done it either. Has anybody had money taken out of there account by sky before, and what I should do?

Companies usually go for a direct debit about 5 working days before the date it comes out. If they don't cancel it on the system before they go for it, there's no way to stop it at their end and the only way to stop it would be through your bank. The rep you spoke to, should have told you that the €45 would come out of your a/c.

Call them back next week and make sure they credit any overpayment.

I have found sky very good with regard over charging at the start of the period, but then you got one month free at the end etc.

I usually turn sky movies / sports on every 3 or 6 months

Just rang them there and said I wanted to cancel as they were too expensive.
They said they would give me 25% discount for the year as I had been with them for 3 years - happy days! :)
