I recently inherited a breville bl19 blender from work.

there's doesn't seem to be any power going to it and I want to try to open it up.

I contacted breville as I couldn't get access to the motor and they told me that they are fitted with tamper proof screws.

anyone ever dealt with tamper proof screws before?

they seem to be similar enough to a torx screw but I can't find a screwdriver to fit it

You can buy sets of so-called security bits for a screwdriver with a standard hex socket easily in any hardware store. If it's one that looks like a torx it's probably one with a small pin in the middle, and there's a bit with a corresponding hole down the centre that fits it.
