I have a netbook that works perfect on the battery but as soon as the charger is plugged in the screen goes off. Netbook is still running but no picture. the charger also charges the battery no problem. Has anyone got any ideas.
    Thanks in advance

My Netbook (NC10) has a turn off backlight button, press Fn and the F5 key which has a contrast icon (a Sun) from memory to turn it back on!

unfortunately i dont think its that simple. if netbook is plugged in when i power on the screen doesn't come on. If its not plugged in it starts up no problem. then if i plug in charger while it on the screen goes off and if i plug out again screen stays off till i pull battery. no matter what button i press

Maybe try BIOS update first? Just in case there is some bug that has been fixed by manufacturer. You might need external screen connected to do it as it must be done WITH power adapter connected.

Try a different charger if you can get your hands on one.

Good idea, especially if you're using any replacement or universal adapter. I remember a case where touchpad didn't work with laptop working on AC adapter (cheap replacement). After replacing it with good quality OEM Delta power adapter the problem disappeared.
