American company, have about 5+ facilities world wide. HQ in Utah I think

Their main product in Galway is guide wires used in cardiovascular surgery.
Other products include hemostasis valves and surgery packs/kits.

The new jobs are in the new building which is supposed to able to accommodate 500 so thats where you would be. They have about 250/300 working in the current building.

In terms of working there. The operator work is pretty monotonous work, performing the same actions over and over. You do get switched station every 2/3 hours but it can still be pretty head wrecking.

In terms of pay, if you have no medical device experience its less than 10 euro per hour, after 6 months that goes up by 50 cent or 1 euro I think. If you have medical device exp then you jump straight to the exp operator wage .

Typical work week is 8-5 mon-thur, fri is usually half day. They have an evening shift but I dont know the typical hours for that. Plenty of OT available.

Very professional company, but id call the operator work soul destroying, especially when talking to the person beside you is not allowed.

Probably the stock offering, I don't think that the share price is reflective of the company performance in Ireland :-)

Merit Medical Systems(MMSI_) shares were plunging 7.4% to $17.20 after the medical devices company said it is planning a public offering of common stock. Merit expects to use proceeds from the offering to partially repay debt, expand manufacturing facilities and for potential acquisitions and general corporate purposes.
