Commuting Dublin centre - Leixlip

    Hey all,

I'm from Belgium but will soon be moving to Dublin and working in Leixlip. I love to cycle so the 20km commuting won't be a problem for me.

I've been checking out how to cycle to work, but it seems the N4 is a dual carriageway. Can I cycle there? And where would I ride, as there doesn't seem to be a bikepath on google maps.

Or would it be best to cycle alongside the river Liffey (Chapelizod/Lower Road) until Leixlip?

Edit: also, I'll be needing a decent bike. Preferably 2nd hand. Any idea where I could find one in Dublin for 150-200€ max?

Groetjes, Rhand. There are many threads on this subject if you search "N4", but basically it is a nice enough commute: the bus lane keeps you out of the main traffic for most of the way. Main challenge is passing the M50 interchange.
See you out there... (but I'm going the opposite way).

Good to hear, and I'll do the search.

Perhaps we'll meet, I'm still not sure if I'll remember to drive on the left side in Dublin :D
