Very annoying - went to their website to check out a 16" saorview tv they had last week for €99 hoping to get 11% off - but the tv is saying €119 now (and has the cheek so say €10 off was €129)

 Thats absolutely disgraceful. I hope enough of people read this thread and never darken their doors again. This kind of sharp business practice has no place while so many in the country are struggling so badly. Shame on you D.I.D...Shame on you

There are laws about that kind of thing. You should contact the NCA with the details. IIRC the regulations state that the product must have been at the pre sale price for a number of weeks prior to advertising the sale price as being from that higher price.

Wow, I was going to go there to get a TV tomorrow,
but if they are hiking up prices like that I'm going to stay away.

Only got a T.V in D.I.D on Tuesday:( but i checked online and it's still the same price it was on Tuesday, so no price fixing down here.

Bought a condenser dryer off DID a while ago in a sale, was sick when I saw it cheaper elsewhere - of course that was after I had already bought it. I didn't do my homework so only myself to blame. The rip-off merchants are still at it and you should report them.

    Off Citizens Information site
"If you have a complaint regarding the pricing of any good or service, you should begin by taking this up with the retailer. There may be a simple explanation, such as the item was mislabelled. Read more about making a consumer complaint here.
If you are still unhappy with your complaint on pricing matters you should then contact the National Consumer Agency, the Competition Authority or the Industry Regulators.
    Where To Apply

I think it was probably a bank holiday offer - so not sure if that exempts them from the "was €129" statement?

In fairness to DID I bought a blu-ray player with this offer having watched it for the past few weeks (it was down from 119 to 89) and I got it at the sale price less the 11% - so for €80 so no complaints here!

If anyone regularly gets the Galway Advertiser, they will see that DID in Galway seem to have a "sale" on every week. I often go down to see the prices on these items, and they are no cheaper than any of the other retailers around the city. They are a bit of a joke imho

I would never buy off a company that associates with Cost Plus Sofas.
DID were the ones supplying the TVs in the "Buy the room, Get the TV" scam.

Keeps telling me I don't have enough products in my basket to qualify even though I have an €1,800 tv in it.

There was a DID employee who use to come onto boards to market the company with crap offers. I think the mods finally banned him.

Ceist_Beag please note that isnt aimed at you!
