Appalling Vodafone Unlimited Problem

I signed for the Vodafone "unlimited" package while it was available.

Today there was a problem with the connection...it was connecting but no data was coming through. I called and spoke to their new, far eastern, customer support. I also mentioned, before she checked, that my (Eircom) landline was suddenly out too in case it was connected (I am in a rural area).

She went away for ages, and when she came back I was told that I had zero data transfer (just pings timing out) on 3g (GPRS was fine) because I was on the unlimited tariff so the speed on my line had been reduced (???) and that if I wanted to fix that I would have to switch to a different tariff.

I took some time getting it across to her that what she was telling me was technical nonsense as my connection speed was reduced to zero on 3g. To which she tells me it is not zero as I have transfer on GPRS.

I again tell her this is technical nonsense.

Then she tells me this is because, with the reduced speed, the connection is not good enough for 3g (3 bars - where I am I started getting reliable 3g on one bar - about 5 years ago).

She refused to report the fault.

It was so transparently obvious that, rather than any real customer service, she was saying just about anything that popped into her head to pressure me to switch to a new 18 month contract and a 10gb tariff.

That is really disgraceful and seems like it might be some form of unlawful representation?

Anyway, data transfer came back as soon as my landline did - so whatever the fault, she was telling me absolute rubbish.

As a result, my question is this:

Which mobile providers also offer POP3 email? I want to take out a new 18 month contract with someone else as soon as this contract become to unreliable to use.

you dont have to wait until your contract is up, u can cancel it, if they are providing a shoddy service, without incurring their cancellation charges

I know that, but the change will be a nuisance (I do still have unlimited data too) and 4g is rolling out slowly so I will leave it till the last minute.

4G won't be rolling out until 2013/2014, the licences haven't even been auctioned yet. You also don't have unlimited data at the moment read your contract.
All the networks will allow you to access your email.
