The RSPCA has appealed for help to trace a man caught on CCTV in Kent swinging a cat by its tail.
The man was recorded outside the Camden Arms pub in Ramsgate at 08:15 BST on 29 October.
Insp Caroline Doe, of the RSPCA, said she was shocked and appalled by the attack and was hoping someone would come forward to identify the man.
"This was a very violent, nasty attack. The cat would have gone through an enormous amount of stress and fear."
The cat, called Mowgli, was not injured in the incident.
Mowgli's owner, Michelle Buchannan, said: "I just don't understand the mentality of people that would do something that cruel."

How cruel, hope he's caught and swung by his "tail!"

I saw a woman yesterday just pull over pop a cat out of the car and then drive off. I got part of the number. Its obviously a very cruel thing to do but is it illegal?

I purposely didn't look at the youtube clip earlier but BBC news showed it to me anyways and I'm mad as hell after watching it, mainly because Mowgli is the spitting image of my (now dead) cat...poor f*ckin' thing is terrifeid to levae it's owners bedroom now and the little toerag that did it laughing with his mate is long gone.
If that woman with the wheelie bin got in as much crap as she did this little c*nt deserves stringing up...
