Is the current downward trend going to continue?

I saw petrol today at 1.43.5 in Carlow town, the cheapest I've seen in a long long time. It's only 2-3 weeks since it was 1.49.9 at the same place. It was 1.45.9 last week. I don't really understand petrol forecasting, so what are the predictions for next few months?

Cheapest I've seen around Kildare-Laois is 1.47.9, can't see prices falling below 1.40 for a year.

Coming into Budget season, expected forecast is extended periods of bending over followed by some scattered raping.

I saw those prices yesterday too, diesel was only one cent cheaper. i thought there was a 9c difference between diesel and petrol, or there should be.

Carbon tax is due to rise in the budget so we'll see about 3c lashed onto the price. :(

That's the place which has been fined €14,000 for having dodgy pumps giving short measure.

    different company then.

Plus you can imagine that inspectors regularly visit the place now.

The reductions were a dip in wholesale price of E5 last week, its on the increase again by 2c w/s tomorrow at midnight, and current forecast is 1.6c Tuesday. Expect it to be back to where it was last month by mid next week,

If you want to get ripped off then visit Galway City . Petrol €1.57 tonight 2nd Jan no delay in adding VAT to fuel which was delivered before the end of the year. Galway is operating a high price policy across all suppliers with petrol costing 5 - 6 cent more than in the south east. Top up in Mayo before you cross the county line. Ballindine has always keen prices & good service stations with toilets, food & parking.

VAT went up midnight on New years. They don't have a choice. It's nothing to do when they buy it as its on the sale price.
