2008 opel combo, down on power!!

    We have a 1.3 cdti opel combo with a slight problem. It drives along with no problems at all but when i accelerate suddenly, the yellow light in the shape of a car and spanner flashes on and the van severely decreases in power. It resets itself when the ignition is turned off and on again. Anyone have this problem before?

    I think they have no power to start with.
    You need a good indy garage (not a type of music) with diagnostic equipment to read the fault code, since it could be a million things.

    i had the exact same van in work there couple of weeks ago 2008 cdti 1.3 drive off 1st gear full of power into second gear then a at 3000 rpm the light comes on then no power turn the key off back on then and the same again 1st gear full power second full power till 3000rpm then on comes the light no power thru all the gears till you turn off and on agin was getting a map sensor p0108 fault code came up got a new map sensor still the same mind boggeling but its defo not the map sensor wonder would the egr valve put it into limp mode

    Yea, was thinking of bringing it up to a garage tomorrow. Just looking for peoples opinions on it before hand.
    I actually find it suprisingly nippy for a 1.3.

    My brother had the same problem with his van he took it to a main dealers and was told the turbo was gone:eek:
    the way his was is if you accelarate slowley no prob and when you plant the foot it use to cut off all power and go into limp mode if you turned off the van and started it again it reset and it was ok again (so couldnt of been the turbo)

    Took the van back from main dealer and got a second opinion.
    On the second opinion the BOOST VALVE SENSOR was changed and problem solved:D

    Ps this problem wouldnt show up when pluged into diagnostics not sure why.
