    No it wont qualify you. You'd have to do the proper Beauty Therapy teaching qualification.

    Also FYI, as regards being a teacher, colleges love staff who make an effort with the spelling and grammar:
    - Sentences start with capital letters i.e. "I" not "i" and "Also" not "also"
    - "wonderin" = wondering
    - "luv" = love
    - "b" = be
    - "wud" = would
    - "knw" = know

    Would you accept this from students you'd be expected to educate?

    It does demonstrate the extent of your interest in education however.

    "applyn" = applying
    "reli" = really
    "wat"= what
    "i" = I
    "tho" = though

    Carareen - txt spk is generally frowned on on boards.
    Kob29 - commenting on a poster's spelling and/or grammar is similarly unwelcome.
    Thanks.

    thank you spurious

    the only reason i was writing that way was because it is quicer to me and not because i couldnt spell or that i was uninterested in education as was stated!

    Just to give this question the correct answer.... To teach a beauty therapy subject (or the full module) in a private collage your qualifications will be at the discretion of the owner of the college, generally they will look ITEC and/ or CIBTAC they may also look for CIDESCO. To teach in a publicly funded collage (ie FAS or a VEC/ETBI) as of 1/11/13 you must be registered with the Teaching Council of Ireland. In order to register with them to teach beauty therapy you must hold (a) beauty specialist/ therapy (to include or additionally add on facial electrics) diploma awarded by ITEC or CIBTAC. Body Thearpy Diploma ITEC/ CIBTAC. Electrolysis diploma ITEC/CIBTAC and 3 years commercial experience. This will allow conditional registration. CIDESCO must be gained within 3 years of conditional registration or registration will be revoked and you can no longer be paid from orichtas funds...... If you were to teach any subject not covered in those diplomas you would strictly speaking be supposed to hold an additional qualification in that area e.g: reflexology etc.

    These requirements were written up in the 1970's and are being up dated in 2014 as CIDESO is not accredited on any European framework and therefore cant be aligned with any qualifications in Ireland. CIBTAC is on the European framework, but just not in Ireland, so I'm sure that will be adjusted.

    You might also find it ironic given the nature of this thread that beauty therapy tutors are instructed not to correct spellings or grammar on any written work!
