Freesat has nothing to do with the Irish DSO. Freesat is a UK digital satellite TV service.

DSO is about the transition from analogue terrestrial TV broadcasting to digital terrestrial TV broadcasting via an aerial and the switching off of the analogue TV network next Oct - http://www.goingdigital.ie/

The UK channels will not be available via the aerial unless you live near the border and receive the overspill signal from N Ireland transmitters.

Have the UK channels via satellite so they should be no change when the switch over happens so.

Or receive UK channels from Wales if you are on or near the eatern seaboard.
