Which planning map shows 'closest' to legal boundaries?

I recently got maps from the land registry (os maps) for a site that I do not own but have permission to build on if I wish. The issue that I have is that the boundaries on the maps I have been given are off centre - all veering to the extreme right. Half of my proposed site is where it should be, the other half is over the top of a neighbours house! All the houses nearby are the same, half of each each site is where it should be and the other half is on top of where the neighbouring house is.
My question is - what do I do now? Are there any other specific maps that I can view? Or is the legal route the only option?

contact the land registry or given them to your architect and ask him/her for their opinion or go back and bitch at the OS people:)

The Land Registry map is an index map and identifies property, not boundaries. Therefore, we are not in a position to advise.
Ordnance Survey Ireland mapping does not depict legal property boundaries nor do we attempt to show property ownership on our mapping.

From the link above . Boundaries and disputes over same can't easily be settled by any maps.

Yes. The vendor must prove ownership to you and you need legal advice.

It sounds like the land registery maps or the os maps are incorrect, this does happen and can be recitfied but it involved solicitors and engineers and of course money!! I suspect that all the maps in the area are out.

If you stick up a google maps link of the area, I can (or many of the other people here I assume) can look on landdirect at the property in question. I find that there are alot of silly problems with the maps now since the change over to digital.
