How far is your PS3 from your modem/router?
I have 50meg with UPC too and am about 18 feet away and get 95-100%.

Are you sure you're connecting to the proper router?..:o

OK I checked again and I am at 30%. 18% was a slight exagaration. I am around 8-9 meters from the wireless router. Definately connecting to the correct router. I have a slight work around for the moment. I have connected router 2 to router 1 via a cable and it no closer. THe speect is lower but the connection drops less.

Regardless of how close the PS3 is to the router, what's in between them? 9 foot think metal mesh wall?

Are there any other wifi access points in your general area on the SAME CHANNEL? Maybe change your channel or configure it for automatic.

as a poster above said change the wireless channel just to rule out interference.

also whats the wireless connection strength on a laptop in the house?if thats bad too it would indicate its defo the modem thats acting up
