Does anybody know of any degree programs in sports psychology that are run here in Ireland? All I can find are mickey mouse online programs and a diploma course in dbs.
    Cheers

Id be very hard pressed to find any degree that caters soley for Sports Psychology. Alot of Sports Science/Sports Related courses do Sports Psychology as a module. Applied/General Psychology courses would offer Sports Psychology as a module also.

DBS do a Evening Diploma soley catered for Sports Psychology but it's only a 10 week part time course.

Id suggest getting involved in a Sports Science/Sports related degree course where Sports Psychology is a module option. Having an overall understanding of the human body and sports performance would be a great addition to sports psychology (the two would intertwine at some level)

If you want to be a sports psychologist, then you really need to do an undergrad honours degree in psychology or 'An honours degree in Recreation and Sport, Physical Education and Sports Science or equivalent is required' according to 2nd link below, and then a masters in sports psychology. I don't think Republic of Ireland does a masters in it but there is one in the north.

http://www.psihq.ie/training_careerguide.asp has info on different psychology careers

and this is sports psychology masters http://www.educationireland.ie/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=448:featured-degree-ma-in-sports-psychology-at-wit&catid=47:degrees not sure where it is though.

and this is sport psychology masters for University of Ulster http://prospectus.ulster.ac.uk/course/?id=9152

How did it work out, did you complete your Sports Psychology qualification?
I am thinking about doing something down this route, would you have any suggestions?
