    My 12yr old cousin's PS3 just died.

When he turns on the green light comes on for a second, then changes to the yellow light for another second and then the red light and it stays off.

I am assuming we can bring it some place to be repaired, where would that be? :D

They live near Carrickmines, South co Dublin

Have a look in the small claims court thread, i doubt a 12 year old has had a PS3 since launch so it can't be that old.

I'm told its out of warranty. I am not looking for Sony to fix it, I am wondering if there is someone online who fixes them or if there is a shop some place that does it

What has warranty got to do with it?

Did you even read the thread?

Why would I read a 45 paged thread about something that I dont want to know about?

From what I can tell its not covered as its completely out of warranty. If there is something specifically that I am not aware of, seeing as I don't own a PS3 and know nothing about them realistically, please tell me. If not, then I would really like to know if there are people who repair them as its bound to be cheaper than buying him a new one, especially seeing as they are basically custom PC's. If this is not an option than please let me know also

Tell your 12 year old cousin to read the thread, it may get him a free replacement.

However, if he wants to pay someone ~€80 for a fix(which may or may not last long) just search "console repair in ireland".

I used the place in Tallaght to repair mine ~ got about 2 weeks out of it before it completely died.

Actually if you read it properly I was not being snotty, I was being polite just had no idea why I was being asked to read such a large thread. Since that I have also thanked him and now have no understanding as to why you decided to stick your oar in, see now thats snotty :p
