Does it have to be an Android?
iPhone and Nokia both has an option under Accessibility to increase font size.

Above are screen shots from iPhone 4s - when you are typing messages a larger 'version' of the character you are typing appears on top of the keyboard, so if you tap the wrong key you can easily slide over to the correct one.

Have you ever thought that not every eyesight problem is fixable. A lot of people are visually impaired and I find your post quite offensive.

    Hence, "if you can".

I've started setting up my old phone for my father, so I'll keep you posted as I find applications that help.
There's an app called Magnus Vitrum which zooms in on the contact list and makes it really big, though it's a little fiddly in other ways. I'm now looking for ways to get SMS messaging more comfortable.

I first started as he's recently listening to podcasts of radio programs he's missed, and it would be handy for him to be able to listen to them in the car rather than sitting in front of the laptop. He has a bluetooth carkit.
There's an app called Drive Safe.ly which reads out incoming text messages too, and there's support for that also in some 3rd party text messaging apps.

Have you considered Voice control? There's an app called vlingo which is pretty good at picking up what you want to do as far as calling, texting emailing is concerned. This is also the basis for the Voice control on Samsung phones.

I've looked at a lot of the settings - the phone is running Cyanogenmod, so if you're looking at a HTC or some Samsungs or Sony's the default Accessibility settings may be different. I just went for font size "Huge" anywhere it was an option - not enough places unfortunately!

I'll post back when I'm happy with it. Love to hear any suggestions you might come across yourself too.
