    When talking about Irish athletics we all refer to the past in terms of the "golden era" of our middle distance generation. We rarely actually talk about some of our current generation in the same esteem, and even more rarely do we talk about our other contributions to the sport so here is just a list of some of the Worlds greatest in their fields that often go under the radar or atleast don't always get associated with ireland in terms of producing excellence in their field so here is just a few

    Br Colm O'Connell
    This Cork man has coached multiple World Champions, Olympic Champions and World Record holders ( including current 800m WR holder David Rusdisha). The cork man has produced more world champions than many countries (including our own). all you have to do is look at St Patricks HS records to see just how many World class runners this school has produced

    Ger Hartmann

    One of the worlds leading physical Therapists working with some of the worlds leading athletes including the likes of Sonia O Sullivan, Usain Bolt, Paula Radcliffe etc. His clinic is based in Limerick and will be a busy one over the next twelve months being so closely situated to London
