I've tried searching for it and am only coming up with references to it being banned in the USA in 1978, but can't find anything specific in relation to Ireland.

1992 when the EEC law stopped sale of lead paint.

It is still possible to obtain lead based paint, under certain circumstances.

    :-o That late?

Maybe a better question would be: When did it fall out of general use for domestic use? i.e. when was most paint in the local hardware shop lead free?
