Attic Insulation - Best option

    Hi,
I recently moved into a old bungalow (semi-d), built in the 1930's. The Attic was converted at some point into two small bedrooms. The remaining crawl-space has no insulation whatsoever & I can see that the Attic bedrooms have no insulation on the plasterboard walls either. As far as I can tell the ceiling has been insulated. If I use Rockwool or equivalent, then all the remaining attic space will be filled & effectively blocked off, so I need to use something less bulky. I'm wondering if it's possible to use the thickest Kingspan Insulation I can afford & fit it into the space between rafters (as well as the attic room walls). This would leave the attic floor untouched & me free access to pipes, electric cables, water tank etc.

Is there a guide on how to do this available? If not any recommendatiosn would be greatly appreciated. I'm wondering if I'm supposed to leave any type of gap between the roof felt & the kingspan. If so how much, & what should I do about a condensation barrier/sheild.

It also crossed my mind once the kingspan was in place whether to staple gun sheets of the thin relective insulation to the rafters as extra insulation & to help reating the kingspan in place.

Thanks in advance for any help

    Brendan
