    American mustard pisses me off,
its weak, almost sweet,,,,or is it a gateway mustard that some people start off on and then leads them on to harder stuff ?

    Yes, that's it

I used French's American mustard for years
Even the smell of Coleman's English would have me gagging, I wasn't able for it

But now recently I'm mad for Colemans. Always get it when I order in the deli at lunchtime

Maybe a lot of people aren't able for the strong stuff straight away

american mustard is a bit like a weakened version of mild piccalilli, with out the pickled veg in it.
    to me anyway

I jumped in the mustard deep-end many years ago with colemans, and have never looked back. Honey mustard is alright with your domino's, or American mustard with your hot dogs. The only true mustard though, is the harder stuff.

    Vive le Coleman's!

The only place I think American mustard has any business showing up is on a corn dog.

Meats like chicken, sausages or ham all go well with mustard.
All wholegrain mustards are good imo, stay away from mustards with added whiskey etc until you feel more adventurous.
    French's is a good starter.

    Mostly ham.
I also use it in a salad dressing base, recipe can be found here. :)

All quiet on the mustard front - or are people too busy stocking up before the christmas?
