I believe the first race will be a 3 miler on the 30th Nov. This is to give a heads up, as a few on here were asking about it. A great series to keep the heart pumping throughout the winter.

I'll post more when I receive it.

    Hey folks,
What is the deal with these races?
Are they road or track based?
Limited to Raheny members or open to all?
Is the standard very fast or all sorts?
    Where do they start from/finish?
What is the cost per race?

The Shamrocks site seems very limited in information or else I've been looking in the wrong place!

Are they road or track based? Road
Limited to Raheny members or open to all? Open
Is the standard very fast or all sorts? All Sorts
Where do they start from/finish? Close to St Anne's Park, just off the main Road heading away from the village
What is the cost per race? Cheap - €5-€6 ish

I think that there are 2 sites out there RahenyShamrocks.ie and RahenyShamrocks.com. One is old, the other is new, and I never know which is which!

get there around 1930, this gives you time to sign up and do a warm up lap or two before the start

Register in the clubhouse which is quite difficult to find. But, it is opposite the church on the Howth Road, to the left hand side of the Scout Den as you go in the gate. Best to ask someone, when you get there.

I can't do the linking to Google maps thing, but here goes:
    http://g.co/maps/b68ng

If this works you can see the Green door in the back ground to the left of the top picture.

So how did everyone get on in the 3 miler tonight?

I arrived home from work and was getting my gear together when Mrs Mac told me she was going out with her Ma.

So will have to wait to dust off the cobwebs 'til next week.

Was a decent enough turn out at it (unfortunately not enough for me to create a wind barrier but sure can't always have it your own way:p)

My first experience of the Winter Series and have to say enjoyed it

Comon you can't just leave it at that - what time and position?
Was Mick Traynor, Davy Byrne or Feidhlim Kelly there?
