Judo club in Trinity

I'll probably be going to Trinity next year, and just wondering what the Judo club is like. I remember reading on the site(which is down now) something about there being BJJ too, is this true? I have a small bit of experience with BJJ and would really like to combine them.

What are training times like? I'd be an hour dart journey away, so I don't know if it'd be sensible to join (depends on my timetable I suppose).
Does it have gis and belts? (as in can I be graded/promoted?)

It's a while away yet, but just curious

the best person for you to ask is a user by the name of TrollHammaren. He is quite high up in the Judo club and will be able to answer the majority of your questions. Send him a PM on Boards and I am sure he would be happy to help.

Following the promotion of TCD Judo in this thread, I thought I might add my own two cents. I only took it up at the start of term as a beginner, but I found many of the members to be really encouraging and friendly. Also the coach is really patient and sound. That's important particularly as I'm only starting out. :D. If anybody wants to try a new sport, give it a thought. I can vouch that it's great exercise. :pac:

Also maybe if there are other beginners out there, we can give each other a bit of moral support. Just saying...:D
