Where can I leave my bike?

We have a work event in Galway at the end of the month and a workmate has suggested that both of us take a half day and cycle down from Athlone and cycle back the next morning - other staff can bring our bags. I'm thrilled with the idea but worried about the security of my bike. The company is paying for our hotel rooms in a small place on Eyre Square. I'm just wondering what policy Irish hotels have on holding bikes? My work colleague says that worst case scenario, we can bring the bikes to our rooms.

Anyone got any experience or advice??

Phone the Hotel and ask them?

I've known people to bring their bikes into rooms on the sly but usually they'll let you use a storage room or something. I've left mine in a beer storage yard and a hallway amongst other places, give them a shout anyway. They would probably prefer you didn't bring it to the room for cleanliness reasons anyway, particularly if it's wet.

Thanks, well we rang the hotel. They really don't know what to do. They said that they never had cyclists guests before (I find that hard to believe). So they said that if they don't have a store room for us, we can bring the bikes to our rooms :)
