Not getting paid for Holidays.

Hope I'm posting in the right section here. I have been working in a Hotel for a good amount of years, not in the Hotel itself, but in a separate department. (I don't want to be too specific, for obvious reasons). Anyway, as the hotel is quiet at this time of the year, we were issued with a not attached to our wages a few weeks ago, stating that " Please note that Holiday pay has been suspended for the foreseeable future. However be assured that you will receive your holiday pay entitlements at a later date".
Basically, if I want to take a day off, work away, but you won't get paid. Whatever days I have left, I was holding on until Christmas anyway, hoping that everything would be sorted by then. However, I assume this is illegal.
Then to make matters worse, none of us were paid today for the bank holiday last week:mad::mad:. I didn't work the bank holiday, but surely I am still entitled to be paid for it.
I'd appreciate any help or advice. Everyone is talking about doing something, but nothing seems to be happening.

Sounds illegal because you have worked up your holiday pay/time-off throughout the year!

I'm an no legal adviser but I have had employment issues in the past and found citizens information a great place. U can meet with a solicitor for 15 or so mins for free and they will tell you your rights and how to approach your boss.

Think there's one in most urban cities...? I live in Dublin and there are a few in the county.

Rang NERA, and they said it's completely illegal. So have to fill out complaint forms and send them back.

    U go girlfriend...

How do you think your boss will react?

I've had problems in work and everyone was always talking about going and doing something but in reality it was left to two of us while they all backed down and made us look like total troublemakers!

Ok well first of all I'm a man! Oh no, my boss is with us on this. They didn't get paid either, but nothing they can so. It's the hotel managers that decided this behind our backs.
